British Council in Partnership with Uganda Press Photo Award Bring You Creative Hustle Talks
For the past couple of years, there has been a lot of discussion on African representation and the need to have Africans tell African stories. With the current Black Lives Matter protests, it has come to bare that this is not only an African issue but a black issue as we’ve seen calls for more black photographers to be hired to report on issues that pertain to their communities.
Join the Creative Hustle Talk next week, 22nd July for a focus on what steps East Africa can take to ensure that this resurgence goes beyond the per formative winds that are currently blowing to beyond this moment towards more focused and concerted efforts to engage with a varied number of voices.
The discussion will be moderated by Stella Nantongo, Programme - Coordinator Uganda Press Photo Award and joining the panel are Maheder Tadese -Photographer and Founder Center for Photography Ethiopia, Nkinzingabo Jacques - Photographer and Founder Kigali Center for Photography and Edward Echwalu –photojournalist, documentary photographer.
